Program:

Music by Tofig Guliyev will be highlighted in "Postcards from Baku: Character Pieces by Azerbaijani Composers," a concert to be presented by pianist Jon Liechty on Saturday, April 3. The concert will include Guliyev's collection "Jamil's Album," twelve short pieces in a wide range of moods. The program will also include works by Arif Melikov, Elnara Dadashova, and Nargiz Shafieva.

Jon Liechty bio:

Pianist and composer Jon Liechty has performed in
Baku, London, Brussels, New York, Atlanta, Chicago and
other cities. A founding member of the Saba Ensemble,
he is heard on their CD _Saba: Breeze of the East_.
_Azerbaijan International_ has published an article
about his work. He has taken part in the American
Composers Alliance Festival and the Summerkeys
Festival.

Liechty holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the
Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington,
Indiana; he has received grants from Meet The Composer
and the Indiana University Honors Division. His music
has been performed in New York's Weill Hall, at the
New York Society for Ethical Culture, and during the
Midwest Composers Symposium.
